Kadamba (Kadam)

Kadamba is a flowering, evergreen plant, which is known as “mythical tree”. It is also an ornamental plan, which is belongs from “Rubiaceae” family. “Neolamarckia cadamba” is scientific name of the kadamba plant and in Bengali it is known as “Kadam”. Kadamba plant is a slow growing plant. It is round in shape and its color is yellow with many small white sticks. It grows in sunlight and need watering everyday, but over watering can spoil kadamba plant. It needs temperature “between 20°C to 40°”, heavy temperature can be damaged kadamba plant. It produces a small scented flowers and fruits. It uses for timber, paper etc and it also a medicinal plant.
