Sandal Wood
A type of herbal or a medicinal plant is Sandalwood plant that belongs from family of “Santalaceae”. Scientific name of this plant is “Santalum album”, which is commonly known as “Indian sandalwood”. In Bengali it is known as “Chandan” or “Srigandha” and in India it is a traditional plant because it is used in festival especially Hindus religious. It is used in skin for skin problem, it is very effectual. Their have many types of sandalwood plant that is like one is white colored and another is red colored. Its smell is very nice.
Sandalwood plant prefers red loam soil but this plant can tolerate rocky soil. This plant is not growing well in well-drained moist alluvial soil but poor soil is preferable for this plant. For its well and healthy growth it needs medium rainfall, abundant sunlight, dry weather and temperature ‘between 15°C to 30°C’.
